Step into a night of festive magic as Willinga Park transforms into a winter celebration for Christmas in July. Guests will enjoy a two-course shared feast, a complimentary arrival drink, live music and all the warmth of Christmas.

Dinner begins with a generous family-style service of Christmas favourites, from maple and mustard glazed ham to garlic and rosemary roast lamb, served alongside seasonal sides like duck fat roasted potatoes, honey-glazed Dutch carrots, cauliflower gratin, and traditional stuffing. For dessert, guests will be served a duo of festive favourites: sticky date pudding and classic Christmas pudding. —both with festive twists. Children under 12 will receive a tailored Christmas meal, dessert, and soft drink.

Doors open from 6:00pm, with bar service available upon arrival. Guests will be seated by 6:45pm to the sounds of Christmas classics. “The south coast is already a draw card for bushwalkers, nature lovers and tourists and the Southern Headlands Walk supplements the many incredible outdoor activities people can do in the region.”

Features of the new walk include:

Ten of the Shoalhaven’s best beaches (Narrawallee, Jones, Mollymook, Golf Course Reef, Collers, Ulladulla Harbour, Corcoran Cove (The Bommie), Rennies, Racecourse and Burrill
Existing walks including One Track for All, Gari Bagan, Coomee Nulunga Cultural Walk, Narrawallee Foreshore Walk and the South Pacific Walk
Areas of Bangalay Sand Forest (an endangered ecological community)
Fossils that are 270-million-year-old, near Ulladulla Harbour
Migrating whales, playful dolphins and endangered birds along the way
Two Holiday Haven Tourist parks (Ulladulla and Burrill Lake)
Shops, cafes, public toilets and picnic areas.

Those taking on the entire 20km walk are advised to do a ‘car shuffle’ – dropping one car at the end of the walk and a second car driving walkers back to the start. Alternatively, short sections of the walk can be done easily by families or visitors who want to experience snapshots of the area, such as the walking trails and look-out at Ulladulla light house.

For those looking to incorporate the walk into a getaway, Ulladulla Holiday Haven is located on a stunning headland almost halfway along the walk, while Burrill Lake Holiday Haven is nestled near the start of the walk at Blackburn Head.

Walks upgraded under the NSW Government’s Restart NSW Sustainable Tourism Infrastructure Grant and incorporated into the 20km length include: the northern Ulladulla Headland (One Track for All); Warden Head (Coomee Nulunga walk), and steps at Blackburn Head, Burrill Lake.

The Southern Headlands Walk supplements other popular walks on the south coast including the nearby Pigeon House Mountain Didthul walking track in Morton National Park, the Murramarang South Coast Walk starting at Pretty Beach, and further south, the Light to Light walk in Beowa National Park.

Completing the iconic Pigeon House Mountain Didthul walking track near Ulladulla in Morton National Park rewards hikers with amazing panoramic views of the area.

Please note:
It's best to walk this track in dry weather as it is very steep and involves some ladders, you'll also enjoy better views.

The Budawangs is a declared wilderness area and to protect the environment there are some restrictions on group sizes, firewood use and camping locations, including camping in rock overhangs. Please refer to the Guidelines for walking in the Budawang Wilderness.

Pigeon House Mountain Didthul walking track is one of the best walks in Morton National Park and on the south coast. The walk is in the park’s southern section. The walk is pretty steep in parts, but terrific views make it worthwhile.

You’ll hike through forest, heathland and age-old sandstone before coming to the best part – negotiating a series of ladders that lead you to the summit and the view.

Take in the captivating sight of cliffs and gorges within the Budawang Wilderness, all carved by the Clyde River. On clear days, you may be able to see as far as Jervis Bay and Bermagui. You might even spot a lyrebird along the final portion of the track, where you can also check out rare Pigeon House Ash eucalypts.

Enjoy some lunch at the top of the mountain, or head back down to the picnic area at the start of the walk for a well-deserved lunch.
